1st May – International Workers’ Day
Today, on Labour Day, we stand in solidarity with workers around the world—those whose dedication, sacrifice, and resilience build the foundations of our societies.
As Chairman of the Human Rights Protection Foundation, I salute the working class—the farmers, factory workers, domestic helpers, healthcare staff, teachers, drivers, technicians, and countless others—who often work in silence yet carry the weight of the economy on their shoulders. Their contribution is not only vital but sacred.
Let us also remember that dignity, fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to unionize are not privileges—they are fundamental human rights. Unfortunately, millions of workers in Pakistan and across the globe still face exploitation, child labour, bonded labour, harassment, and unjust treatment. This must end.
The Human Rights Protection Foundation renews its commitment to fight for justice, equality, and the protection of workers’ rights. We call on governments, businesses, civil society, and the public to ensure that no worker is left behind or denied their lawful rights.
Let Labour Day be more than a commemoration—it must be a call to action. Together, we can build a world where every worker is respected, protected, and empowered.
