Child Protection and Institutional Advocacy

About this project

HRPF advocates for child protection and responsive public institutions. Its documented work includes engagement over a reported child-protection incident and a separate public statement calling for fair treatment and juvenile-justice safeguards for a child from a minority community. These are distinct interventions within the Foundation’s child-rights work.

The challenge

Children and families affected by violence or contested legal proceedings need protection, fair treatment and responsive institutions.

Our approach

HRPF raised the concern with relevant institutions and followed the case while advocating for stronger protection of children.

Project story

HRPF raises child-protection concerns and advocates for responsive investigations and fair treatment for children, including minority communities.

What we aim to achieve

  • Seek protection and a responsive investigation for a child and family.

What we do

  • Contacted national human-rights institutions.
  • Engaged Punjab Police and relevant judicial authorities.
  • Advocated for family support, protection and a transparent investigation.
  • Called for fair treatment, lawful investigation and juvenile-justice safeguards in a separate minority-child case.

Results and lasting change

  • The concern was brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.
  • The available record does not establish a final court outcome.
  • A public statement records HRPF’s concern; innocence, conviction or a final court outcome is not established by the supplied post.
