About this project
HRPF promotes awareness of human smuggling and trafficking risks and supports lawful institutional follow-up for affected families. Its public appeals include concerns about Pakistani nationals reported missing along the Mauritania–Europe migration route. In August 2026, the overseas-grievance mechanism forwarded HRPF’s representation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for examination and a response.
The challenge
Families in the region faced loss, exploitation and uncertainty linked to dangerous migration routes and trafficking networks.
Our approach
HRPF combined public-interest research, media awareness and representations to authorities to bring the risks and families’ concerns into public discussion.
What we aim to achieve
- Increase public understanding of trafficking and unsafe migration risks.
What we do
- Published research and awareness material on trafficking.
- Raised concerns with senior officials.
- Highlighted the need for safer migration information and family support.
- Raised a humanitarian appeal and sought official follow-up concerning reported missing Pakistani nationals on an irregular migration route.
Results and lasting change
- Trafficking risks and affected families’ concerns were documented and communicated.
- Government prevention and rehabilitation proposals are advocacy requests, not HRPF-delivered programmes.
- Official forwarding correspondence records a request for examination; recovery, repatriation and final case outcomes are not confirmed by the supplied material.
