About this project
HRPF pursued concerns about basic facilities, food, healthcare and cleanliness at Dar-ul-Aman in Mandi Bahauddin through the Provincial Ombudsman Punjab. The supplied decision records the department’s response about facility arrangements and the complainant’s satisfaction during review. HRPF’s public report also describes improvements in sanitation and facility management.
The challenge
The report describes poor sanitation and cleanliness, inadequate healthcare arrangements, weak oversight and deficiencies in monitoring. These conditions affected women living in a government shelter established to provide protection and rehabilitation.
The issue required an institutional response to the facilities and accountability concerns identified in the complaint.
Our approach
HRPF brought the reported deficiencies to the attention of an oversight institution through a detailed complaint. The complaint called for urgent inspection, immediate rectification of deficiencies, administrative accountability and protection of residents’ rights.
Engagement with the Provincial Ombudsman’s office helped draw official attention to the shelter and initiate administrative inquiries and corrective measures.
